RMS Ports, one of the Humber’s leading portcentric operators, has partnered with Stream to bring greater compliance oversight and safety assurance to its mixed HGV and LCV fleet. Operating across Hull, Goole, Grimsby and the Trent, RMS Ports handles almost two million tonnes of cargo a year, from project and bulk materials to steel, timber and paper. In an environment where safe, compliant vehicle movements are critical to daily operations, RMS Ports needed a fleet safety partner it could rely on.
Since September 2025, RMS Ports has equipped 17 vehicles across its fleet with Stream, covering both heavy goods vehicles and light commercial vans operating across its port and haulage operations.
RMS Ports and SM UK go back further than the Stream rollout. SM UK had already worked with RMS Ports on HGV safety, so when Carl Parkin, Group Engineering Manager at RMS Ports’ Goole site, began looking at what else was possible, Stream was the natural next step. The previous telematics system relied on hard drives fitted behind the seat, meaning any footage or incident data could only be downloaded once the vehicle was physically back at base. Stream removed that delay entirely.

Data and footage are available remotely and instantly, giving RMS Ports a live, auditable record of driver and vehicle activity that supports due diligence for customers, insurers and regulators, without adding administrative burden to the fleet team.
Safety backed by better hardware
Stream’s in-cab hardware gives RMS Ports a sharper, clearer picture of what’s happening on the road. The improvement in image quality alone has made reviewing footage faster and more reliable for the fleet team.
